Deep Roots Farm, located in the heart of the Willamette Valley between Corvallis and Albany, began in 1998 as a community supported agriculture (CSA) farm, providing over fifty families with a weekly supply of fresh, "registered organic" produce during our 22-week season. Deep Roots currently supplies produce to customers at up to seven farmers’ markets each week, as well as many local restaurants and independent retailers. Keeping true to our roots, we have remained focused on local direct marketing and are now surrounded by a supportive community who cares not only about the environment, and how their food is produced, but also about the family who produces it.

We are conscientious of the impact both conventional and organic pesticides have on the environment. We strive to create a production system that is less dependent on off-farm inputs and more reliant on natural processes for fertility and pest control. We are proud of our agricultural landscape of wide-open spaces, shrub-land, and small woodlands, which provide essential habitat for a wide variety of creatures, most importantly, our two children.

Community Supported Agriculture builds community by connecting farmers with consumers. To cater to the individual needs of our members, we have broken away from the traditional model of CSA’s and now only offer Market Advantage CSA shares. These shares are essentially pre-paid market credit which is redeemable at any of our market booths throughout the year. They combine the benefits of a traditional CSA with the convenience and choice of market shopping! Market Advantage Shares have become our most popular CSA option because they provide:

Shares are available in three sizes and are purchased at 90% of their market value, so you save 10%! If you invest in a small share for $180, you get $200 worth of booth credit, a medium share purchased for $270 gets you $300 credit, and a large share purchased for $360 gets you $400 credit.  A small share is ideal for a single person, a couple who does not eat a whole lot of veggies, or folks who may be out of town a lot this season. The medium share is great for small families of moderate veggie eaters, and will probably last through the main market season (May through September). The large share is for our die-hard fans who can't seem to get enough Deep Roots produce; folks who like to get quantities of berries, tomatoes, or winter squash; and  year-round market shoppers.Because our Market Advantage CSA shares are market based, we are ALWAYS ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS!
